How can I guarantee the make and model of the car I prefer?

Our make and model are based upon availability. Upon arrival advise the booth attendance of your preference. If available we will be happy to accommodate your preference.

How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can also change or cancel a reservation in person at the booth, via phone or email.

What do I need to bring with me to the booth to rent a car?

All drivers of the vehicle will need to be present and provide a valid driver’s licence and credit card in their own name. Drivers with an overseas licence must provide their country licence, international licence and passport.

Is there a charge if I cancel my reservation?

If you do not cancel your reservation within 48 hours of the scheduled pick-up time or if you fail to rent the car, a NO SHOW fee of $50.00-$60.00 will be charged.

Can I drive the car outside the province?

For driving outside of the province you collected the car, you must inform the booth attendant you are renting from.

Can I use someone else’s credit card?

For security purposes of the credit card holder all renters and additional drivers must have a credit card in their own name.

How do I extend my rental and will it change my rate?

To extend your rental, you must contact the office or the booth attendant where the car was rented. Any changes in your rental may change the rate.

What should I do if I have an accident or the vehicle breaks down?

First contact the police to complete an accident report and immediately contact us. For breakdown service also give us a call.

Can I rent a car with an International drivers license?

If you have a valid International Drivers Licence or a Licence which is in English then you are able to drive in Canada. You are unable to drive in Canada if your Driver’s licence is in another language other than English. Your international driver’s license must include a photo of yourself and you will be required to present your passport with your license.

Can I bring my pets in a vehicle?

If you are travelling with your pets, it is best to contact us to ask if it okay. If it is allowed please be aware that additional cleaning costs may apply.

I’m travelling with a child. Do I bring my own child safety seat?

Bayshore Easy Drive is able to provide child safety seats at an additional cost if you are travelling with a child. Prior to your rental or at the time of reservation, please notify us that you would like a child safety seat and how old your child is. We will try and accommodate your request.

How old do you have to be to rent a car?

Most car rental companies require drivers to be over the age of 25. We have lower minimum age requirement, 21-25, which may incur a surcharge. Please contact us for full details.

Is there an additional charge if there will be more than one driver?

There are no surcharges for additional drivers who meet our minimum age and licence requirements.

Will Bayshore Easy Drive check my driving record?

To help control liability and insurance costs, several major car rental companies, including Budget, screen for high-risk drivers. Budget may ask potential renters a variety of questions regarding their personal driving records. Whenever a prospective renter’s driving history fails to meet a company’s established criteria, the company can deny rental service.

Won’t my credit card cover insurance?

Some credit card companies offer protection if you present their card at the time of rental and use the same card to pay for your rental at the time of return. Renters should examine closely the terms of this coverage as the protection is often supplemental and certain limitations or restrictions may apply.

What refuelling options do I have?

Option One: Bring the car back full to avoid any refuelling service charge. Option Two: If you won’t be using a full tank, and don’t have time to stop for gas, pay us only for the petrol you use plus service charge (i.e. 10 CAD)

Why do I have to return my car at a set time?

Many rates, like weekend specials, are only available during certain time periods. Returning the car after or even before the designated time might affect the rate quoted. Returning the car by the agreed upon time also helps ensure that all other customers will have their reserved car available upon their arrival.

Will I be charged if I return the car late?

Yes. You will be charged $30/hour.

What is Loss and Damage Waiver (LDW)?

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is not insurance – it’s an option that relieves you of financial responsibility if your rental vehicle is damaged or stolen during your rental. Even if you think you are already covered under your personal policy, purchasing LDW has a multitude of benefits. It eliminates the hassle of dealing with your own insurance company claim process, stops any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur from the deductible on your personal policy and avoids the risk of your premium increasing. Next time you rent a car, be sure you’re prepared for life’s unexpected turns. This optional coverage offers you big peace of mind for a small investment.

What other fees are involved?

Taxes (PST (7%),  GST(5%),  Car Rental Tax ($1.50 per day) are added to each reservation.

What happens if I get a parking ticket or other violation?

You have to pay for it. Please do not toss it away.

Can I smoke in the car?

No. If you smoke, you will be fined.

Why do rental car companies ask for a credit card?

Rental companies need to know that their renters are credit-worthy, to minimise vehicle damage and losses. Credit cards and valid drivers’ licences usually provide the only information we have about our renters.

Can I use a credit card up front and then pay for the rental with cash when I return the car?

Although you present a major credit card at the time of rental, when you return the vehicle, you will be asked if you’d like to keep the rental charges on that credit card or pay cash.

What credit card can I use?

Most major credit cards are accepted.

What are the charges for a GPS unit?

The rental charge for a Where2 GPS unit is $1.00per hour.

What happens if my Where2 GPS unit is lost, stolen or damaged?

The charge for a lost, stolen or any damage to the Unit is $300 plus admin fee plus Tax. To minimise the chance of having the unit lost whilst in your possession, we recommend that the unit is never left unattended in the vehicle.
